Are "no strings attached" the next big thing for dating in India? Can women have no feelings and still have sex?
Business Insider reports when we are intimate with someone, oxytocin, also known as the "love hormone," is released into the body "during intercourse and other forms of intimacy," Dr. Sal Raichbach, a psychologist and licensed clinical social worker, tell SheKnows, adding that oxytocin is linked to "positive social functioning and is associated with bonding, trust, and loyalty."
Women, in particular when getting involved with somebody, are expected to have that needy and clingy response after sex.
But wait a minute, are we talking about Indian Women in the 21st century?
In the age of Tinder, the dating dynamic has changed. Women are looking for casual dating and sex without getting into deep emotional, and messy relationships. The only thing that matters to them is the approach. If your first message says "Up for a Hookup?" you might not be getting the desired response. Women like to have a decent conversation where they are comfortable approaching mutual want for sex.
My best friend Manika recently had a hookup with a guy she met through Tinder. She had a conversation, setting up her expectations straight and then going forward with it. But, after the sex, the guy wanted to meet again, which she was not looking for. She had to politely decline and get out of that date. So, it is not only about women getting attached. It is about everyone.
Having recently had a one-night stand arranged through Bumble, Neha said: "if sex is available easily, there's nothing wrong in a woman lusting after it, equally and unapologetically and not waiting around to first check out the stereotypical emotional connect."
The urban women of India are slowly adapting to the dating culture accepting sex as more transactional today, and gradually owning up to this reality. As they do that, many of us will be saved from heartbreaks. What do you say?
Mint reports that the rural women of India have been experiencing sexual desire for a long time. It is a primal and fundamental need for relationships and sometimes so much so that women are ready to forgo the notion of their marriages and jump into casual sex.
Women and sex, just for the sake of fun and intercourse, might be hidden in a closet earlier. But, with the empowerment and advancement of mentalities of Indian Women, they have started changing. Sex for pleasure is OK; one-night stands, Hookups, and pre-marital sex is also OK.
To my male readers, you just need to be upfront about what you want from the woman. You never know when you get lucky.
